Turning Point Behavioral Services

A team of behavioral analysts with over 30 years experience working with students, their families and school districts. We are owned and operated by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA).

Turning Point strives to provide high quality behavior and educational services for students with special needs, their parents and their educational team. We aim to deliver an evidence-based intervention grounded in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Turning Point promotes positive, effective and individualized programming with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life for students with special needs and their families.
We offer a hands-on approach to training parents, direct service providers, and educational teams in effective teaching methods proven to best serve students with challenging learning and behavior needs. Turning Point incorporates a strong verbal behavior component in guiding effective programming for the students we serve. Consultation services are offered to families, school districts, BOCES classrooms, and private agencies. We support the belief that every student can learn and are dedicated to assisting families and schools in making that belief a reality. Our team is clearly invested in our work and the success of every student - you can see and feel it.

Our Services

Skill Development - Individualized programming based the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis and Skinner's Verbal Behavior (VB) utilizing the ABLLS-R and VB-MAPP Management of individual child programming including direct instruction, discrete trial training, natural environment training
Direct Instruction Programming -Language for Learning, Language for Thinking, Distar Math Toilet training, feeding, other ADLs Shadowing of child into a least restrictive classroom to facilitate peer interactions.

Behavioral Improvement Programming - Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) Behavior Improvement Plans (BIP) Monitoring and data-based treatment decisions pertaining to behavioral issues

Training & Consultation - Consultation for programs, classrooms, and individual students Support educational teams in implementing Behavior Improvement Plans Training in effective teaching techniques grounded in the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis Family training related to behavioral difficulties, toilet training, meal time issues, sleep issues Mini-workshops for parents and professional Supervision of BCBA/BCABA candidates
